On July 3rd 2014, the Manna Center for Food Safety and Security at Tel Aviv University, in collaboration with the the Pears Innovation for International Development Program and MASHAV, organized a conference on the topic of Leveraging the Private Sector for Agricultural Innovation in Development.

Throughout the day over 120 people attended the 3 panels.

Each of the three panels addressed different perspectives of this issue, and gave a broad idea of the advantages of working in collaboration with the private sector. It also raised important ethical and practical issues in doing so.

We had the honor of hosting Member of Knesset Professor Avishay Braverman for the opening remarks.

The day was organized around three panels which included the presentation of a case study, and four to five speakers who discussed the issues at hand. The speakers were from different sectors and disciplines, eleven of them came from around the world and four were Israeli.
