MSc Cohort 3 Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony for the third cohort of MSc students took place at the Arava International Center for Agriculture Training (AICAT) on Monday, November 14th. We are excited to announce that eighteen students representing diverse nationalities including Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda and Vietnam are joining this next class.
Representatives from the Kenyan Embassy, including the Charge D’Affaires, Mr. Jon Chessoni attended the gathering speaking to the incoming cohort, emphasing the importance of “what we learn outside the classroom is just as important, if not more so, than what we learn in the classroom”. The previous year’s cohort, who is finishing up their final semester, spoke and sang. One thesis student from the first class year, Vu Nguyen from Vietnam, took to the stage to speak of his experience in the program and offer words of wisdom to the incoming class.
The director of AICAT, Ms. Hanni Arnon, Prof. Nir Ohad (Academic Head), and Ms. Maya Oren (Program Director) delivered speeches at the event as well. Everyone wished these outstanding students good luck and looks forward to seeing their contributions to a sustainable future.
